Currently brake cylinders are not governed by an EN or ISO standard.
Consequently in 2012 UIC SET 7 (Braking) decided to create a Working Group with the objective of defining the requirements and the specifications for the certification of brake cylinders/units in the form of a new Leaflet.
Since September 2012 the newly founded WG B 126.22 worked on the specifications and presented the new Leaflet 541-01 in January 2016.
The report describes all background information and justifies the requirements defined in the Leaflet.

Zurzeit gibt es keine EN- oder ISO-Norm für Bremszylinder.
Daher beauftragte das SET 7 (Bremswesen) der UIC 2012 eine Arbeitsgruppe mit der Erstellung von Anforderungen und Spezifikationen für die Zertifizierung von Bremszylindern/Bremseinheiten in Form eines Merkblatts.
Die seit September 2012 tätige AG B 126.22 erstellte entsprechende Spezifikationen und legte im Januar 2016 das neue UIC-Merkblatt Nr. 541-01 vor.
Der vorliegende Bericht beschreibt den Hintergrund und rechtfertigt die Anforderungen aus dem Merkblatt.
