This IRS deals with the design of infrastructure for high speed railways. It contains guidelines used to give a global vision of the design of High Speed systems.

It contains the design of the overall design, railway alignment, earthworks, bridges, tunnels, track, stations, rolling stock maintenance facilities, maintenance facilities for infrastructure, energy, communication and signalling, comprehensive protection, environmental protection, and GIS and BIM.

It integrates in full or in part the following UIC leaflets:

• - Leaflet 719, 2008: Earthworks and track bed for railway lines, Cancellation

It aims to complement the following standards:

• -IRS 60672: Implementation of a high-speed railway - Feasibility phase
• -IRS 60673: Implementation of a high-speed railway - Design phase
