The International Union of Railways (UIC) develops and distributes International Railway Solutions (IRSs) to help railway stakeholders, achieve further harmonisation and collaboration. This IRS identifies the required and recommended information to display outside and inside passenger vehicles used and exchanged in international traffic. It defines the characteristics of: - markings, pictograms, tactile signs, - the arrangement of staff and passenger service information, - external and internal destination boards, number plates and - reserved seats identification features. It does not provide requirements on electronic displays used for passenger information, here UIC Leaflet 176 applies. It is addressed to Railway Undertakings, Infrastructure Managers, passenger vehicle keepers, Manufacturers, and Entities in charge of maintenance. It integrates in full or in part the following UIC Leaflets: - UIC Leaflet 580 It complements the following standards: - EN 15877-2
