The IRS 50502-2: - defines the phrase "outline procedure for exceptional consignments", - describes the calculation of route and consignment outlines. The IRS 50502 applies for the handling of exceptional consignments in international traffic. The IRS 50502-2 sets down the rules for the codification of the routes for the carriage of exceptional consignments with the outline procedure. Consignments exceeding the loading gauge in accordance with IRS 50502, points 1.2 and 1.3 which do not fulfil any of the other characteristics of an exceptional consignment, are handled under the outline procedure. The critical points including the limitations in accordance with UIC Loading Guidelines, Vol. 1 Table 21 or 23 may not lie outside the outermost line (9) of the outline procedure described in the IRS 50502-2. In the case of infrastructure managers/railways that have not yet introduced the outline procedure or that have introduced the outline procedure, but whose routes cannot be released for the requested consignment profile, the procedure according to IRS 50502 should be followed. The outline procedure should only be applied for a consignment if it can be used for the entire distance over which the consignment is carried. Außergewöhnliche Sendungen - Umrissverfahren|Die IRS 50502-2: - definiert den Begriff Umrissverfahren für außergewöhnliche Sendungen, - beschreibt die Berechnung von Strecken- und Sendungsumrissen. Für die Behandlung von außergewöhnlichen Sendungen im internationalen Verkehr ist IRS 50502 gültig. Diese IRS regelt die Codifizierung der Strecken zur Beförderung von außergewöhnlichen Sendungen mit dem Umrissverfahren. Mit dem Umrissverfahren werden Sendungen mit Lademaßüberschreitung nach IRS 50502, Punkten 1.2 und 1.3 behandelt, die keine anderen Merkmale einer außergewöhnlichen Sendung aufweisen. Die kritischen Punkte inklusive der Einschränkungen nach UIC-Verladerichtlinien, Band 1 Tafel 21 bzw. 23 dürfen sich nicht außerhalb der äußersten Linie (9) (im) in der IRS 50502-2 beschriebenen Umrissverfahrens befinden. Bei EIU/Bahnen, die das Umrissverfahren noch nicht eingeführt haben bzw. die das Umrissverfahren eingeführt haben, aber deren Strecken für das angefragte Sendungsprofil nicht freigegeben werden können, ist nach der IRS 50502 vorzugehen.
