IEC 61158-6-3:2019 provides common elements for basic time-critical and non-time-critical messaging communications between application programs in an automation environment and material specific to Type 2 fieldbus. The term “time-critical” is used to represent the presence of a time-window, within which one or more specified actions are required to be completed with some defined level of certainty. Failure to complete specified actions within the time window risks failure of the applications requesting the actions, with attendant risk to equipment, plant and possibly human life. This International Standard specifies interactions between remote applications and defines the externally visible behavior provided by the Type 2 fieldbus application layer. The purpose of this document is to define the protocol provided to a) define the wire-representation of the service primitives defined in this document, and b) define the externally visible behavior associated with their transfer. This document specifies the protocol of the Type 2 fieldbus application layer, in conformance with the OSI Basic Reference Model (ISO/IEC 7498-1) and the OSI application layer structure (ISO/IEC 9545). This fourth edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: - corrected substitutions in Table 4; - corrections in 5.3.14; - corrections in 5.5.6; - corrections in 5.17.15; - corrections in 5.17.16.2; - spelling and grammar. L’IEC 61158-6-3:2019 fournit des elements communs pour les communications de messagerie prioritaires et non prioritaires elementaires entre les programmes d’application des environnements d’automatisation et le materiel specifique au bus de terrain de type 3. Le terme “prioritaire” sert a representer la presence d’une fenetre temporelle, dans les limites de laquelle une ou plusieurs actions specifiees sont tenues d’etre parachevees avec un certain niveau defini de certitude. Le manquement a parachever les actions specifiees dans les limites de la fenetre temporelle risque d’entrainer la defaillance des applications qui demandent ces actions, avec le risque concomitant pour l’equipement, l’installation et eventuellement pour la vie humaine. La presente Norme internationale definit de maniere abstraite le comportement visible de l’exterieur fourni par la couche application de bus de terrain Type 3 en termes: a) de syntaxe abstraite definissant les unites de donnees de protocole de la couche Application, transmises entre les entites d’application en communication; b) de syntaxe de transfert definissant les unites de donnees de protocole de la couche Application, transmises entre les entites d’application en communication; c) de diagramme d’etats de contexte d’application definissant le comportement de service d’application observable entre les entites d’application en communication; et d) de diagrammes d’etats de relations d’applications definissant le comportement de communication visible entre les entites d’application en communication. Le but du present document est de definir le protocole fourni pour: a) definir la representation filaire des primitives de service specifiees dans l’IEC 61158-5-3, et b) definir le comportement visible de l’exterieur associe a leur transfert. Le present document specifie le protocole de la couche application des reseaux de terrain de type 3, en conformite avec le Modele de reference de base de l’OSI (ISO/IEC 7498-1) et la Structure de la couche application de l’OSI (ISO/IEC 9545).
