1.1 This test method can be used to determine small amounts of residual vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) in poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) resins. It may be possible to use it for other resins or compounds containing vinyl chloride provided there are no other volatile components present with the same retention time as vinyl chloride monomer. 1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as the standard.
