1.1 This classification system covers requirements for plasticized cellulose propionate thermoplastic compounds suitable for injection molding and extrusion. These compounds have a propionyl content of at least 38% and an acetyl content of not more than 9% and may or may not contain dyes and pigments. Recycled plastics based on cellulose acetate propionate are not covered in this classification system. 1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. 1.3 The following precautionary statement pertains only to the Test Methods portion, Section 11, of this classification: This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use.
