This IRS deals with the limit values for the exhaust gas emissions from diesel traction engines and specifies the method by which these emissions are to be determined.
In this regard, IRS 60624, together with IRS 60623-1 and IRS 60623-2, constitutes the set of documents that shall be taken into consideration for the UIC approval of internal combustion engines and the subsequent issuance of the UIC Label in accordance with IRS 50541-00.

Bahnanwendungen - Fahrzeuge - Abgasemissionsprüfung für Traktionsdieselmotoren|Zweck dieser IRS ist die Festlegung der Grenzwerte für Abgasemissionen von Die-seltraktionsmotoren und die Beschreibung der zur Einhaltung dieser Grenzwerte angewandten Bestimmungsmethode.
Die IRS 60624 sowie die IRS 60623-1 und die IRS 60623-2 bilden den Satz der Unterlagen, der für die UIC-Zulassung von Verbrennungsmotoren und die anschließende Ausstellung des UIC-Labels gemäß IRS 50541-00 heranzuziehen ist.
